What we collect and why

• Account data(name, email, password hash, account type) — to create and secure your account. Legal basis: contract.
• Customer request data(job description, optional budget and dates, saved address labels/areas) — to send your quote request to your chosen provider. Exact home-access details are deliberately excluded from the quote stage. Legal basis: contract.
• Provider profile and evidence(business details, services, coverage, availability; identity or company-registration document and public liability insurance) — to run the evidence review that gates publication. Evidence files live in a private store, are scanned before review, are never public, and follow our provider-evidence retention policy. Legal basis: contract and legitimate interests (platform safety).
• Messagesbetween customers and providers — to operate secure conversations and, where needed, investigate abuse reports. Legal basis: contract and legitimate interests.
• Provider billing data(when billing activates) — subscription status and invoices via Stripe. We do not store card numbers. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
• Operational and product data— privacy-minimised operational events (bounded codes, counts, hashes; no message bodies, addresses, or raw errors) and an anonymised product funnel that stores no user identifiers, IP addresses, or cookies and expires after 90 days. Legal basis: legitimate interests (a reliable, safe service).

We do not run advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Authentication uses strictly necessary cookies only.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase — database, authentication, and private file storage (EU/UK regions).
• Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (EU sending region).
• Stripe — provider subscription billing, when activated.
• Mapbox — map tiles on search, when enabled.

We do not sell personal data.

Retention

We keep account and marketplace records while your account is active and for a bounded period afterwards for dispute and legal purposes. Provider evidence follows our published evidence lifecycle, with scheduled deletion of the stored files. Anonymised funnel events expire after 90 days. Backups age out on the platform’s schedule.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact support@easycleaners.co.ukand we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

International transfers

Our primary processing is in the UK and EU. Where a processor involves transfers outside the UK/EEA, it operates under UK-approved safeguards such as the UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

The service is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly process children’s data.

Changes

We will post changes here and notify account holders of material changes.
